We are delighted to announce that TVED is working in partnership with SSAT (the Students, Schools and Teachers Network), to deliver The Department of Education (DfE) National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML). This supports our passion for championing the vision of improving education for the communities we serve and the children we work with locally, regionally and nationally, in line with the National Education Agenda, investing in our leaders and future leaders.

A million pound fund has been announced by the DfE to support teachers and leaders working in opportunity areas and category 5 and category 6 areas (Middlesbrough for example is category 6), covering the £900+VAT costs for the NPQML. All teachers and leaders in the areas specified would be fully funded by the DfE, provided they have not already studied for the DfE NPQML.

The NPQML is designed for any aspiring or current middle leader who is looking to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviour to impact on school improvement through improving pupil progress and attainment whilst driving the capacity of the team they lead. They will be given six formal half day training sessions, timetabled to have limited impact on their teaching and leadership commitments. In addition, they will have opportunity to attend drop in sessions with course leaders and peer-to-peer moderations to support their final assignment. The delegate will also need access to a personal coach within their own workplace, who in turn will also be given support throughout the programme.

SSAT support and drive the module alongside TVED through their online learning platform, Knowledge Hub. This provides each delegate with the relevant materials, resources and a forum for ongoing professional dialogue with their course peers.
